who has the cutest bun of them all?

GGS has gone for a virtual vacation and is now back, and meanier than you think.

GGS loves online shopping and she notices cute girl hair bun like this
.
.
.
.
.

and immediately thought it must be from the japanese! or the koreans! aint she cute!!
.
.
.
.
.
.
.

as the saying goes , " what went around , come back again " , same goes to fashion.
whatever happened to hippie bands happened to the cute hair style as well!
so the trend might really started way way back in the 60s, where fighting against the DARK SIDE is the righteous way and going to the DARK SIDE makes ur breathless.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.

oh well, but GGS believes that it must have its roots from religion. Everything starts from a religion! yes, even cute hair styles.

the true blue hippie

Once again i believe it's MK Olsen who sparked of this my-mind-is-too-loose-i-need-something-to-tighten-it Trend by wearing braid headband.

GGS found out some source of the inspiration.. like..

Call on me.. yea baby!

GANBARE!!

forget it..

This fashion statement derived from the 60s - 70s , from the Hippies:
The Hippie subculture was originally a youth movement that began in the United States during the early 1960s and spread around the world. The word hippie derives from hipster, and was initially used to describe beatniks who had moved into San Francisco's Haight-Ashbury district. These people inherited the countercultural values of the Beat Generation, created their own communities, listened to psychedelic rock, embraced the sexual revolution, and used drugs such as cannabis and LSD to explore alternative states of consciousness.
Excerpt from Wikipedia.org

so besides long hair headband, what makes u a true blue hippie ?

Rainbow Tee
your father's vest.

PEACE sign. ironically, Hippies created much controversies and protests in the name of Peace

a guitar, preferbly rainbow as well.

not to mention rainbow van, must have enough room for hippie drugs and sex.

lastly,

stay in bed for a declaration!

GGS's 2cent worth :

no idea whatever happened back in the 60s- 70s that triggered such mindset all over the world. but there are people who believe that drugs and sex ought to be free. Right, they are free for awhile, but who will pay for the consequence?
your children?
your grandchildren?
(alright, any further i will be able to write hippie songs already).

BACK TO FASHIONS!

erm, nevermind about the headband, i just wish rainbow will never come back.

uses of Shutter Shades

Smile Paris, You look better in this ridiculous shade that's 1/2 the size of your face.

This 80s fashion item made a glamorous comeback having endorsed by Kanye West in the Mtv Stronger. It look exceptionally amazing on Kanye West and the teddy bear.

Besides looking cool, attract overwhelming attention (for awhile) , i couldn't think of any good use. I mean, what's the bloody use of this?!

can you really SEE with this shades? the clubs have enough spinning lights to make us all go giddy, and this doesn't help. and what's the image you gonna get?

not very pleasing.

and imagine the lines on your face! you'll look either you've been run over by a bicycle many times or too much wrinkles on your face.

so readers if you have any uses of this shutter shades, please feel free to share with us! :)

gladiator sandals.

Mary-Kate Olsen probably started this strapping-yourself-up-like-SM trend by wearing what's hot now known as " Gladiator Sandals".

I don't remember seeing it but all this straps just reminds me of Anicent Jerusalem culture, and such footwear is definitely useful for Easter production :D and i called it, the " Jerusalem shoes " .

After much research, i found out that it was actually inspired by the Ancient Roman empire Fashion. It was the common footwear back then and they were many types.

3.The sandals (solae or sandalia). This type of shoe was not suitable during winter and having enough economic was used by people who could not afford other types of more expensive shoes. For persons belonging to a certain rank, in fact, was not prestigious out in public with sandals. These shoes held firm at the foot by strips of leather that went directly from the sole and, placing themselves between the fingers, neck climbed on foot, while in the back or on the sides of these strips (amenta - habenae - obstragula) put in rings which started from leather soles and continued upward where stops were the other strips in a leather collar that descended from the ankle. By pulling these strips and attaching the strings as if they were close and approaching the collar with the sole of the sandal, collecting and taking firm foot.

source from: http://hubpages.com/hub/The-footwear-of-the-ancient-Romans

and in fact, i found a picture on romans dressing.

and i saw that the middle class shoes looks disturbingly familiar.

MIDDLE CLASS. BAH! (even though it's chanel)

GGS 2-cents worth :

1 ) Gladiator sandals is seriously not in my wish list. firstly, unlike heels, gladiator sandals doesn't make me feel like a diva.

2 ) It's just another passing trend, like the previous " must-have" cheap rubber pumps. i don't mean that it's not nice, it's just not in trend anymore. and i'm thankful i didn't own a pair.

3 ) this reason is simply practical : imagine wearing something like Mary-Kate's and walking in orchard road under the hot sun, and at the end of the day when you remove the sandals, you realise you become half a zebra.

buy worthy ? not really.
